Anne Beiler, an Amish-Mennonite woman, took a market stand to fund a free counselling service her husband wanted to run, and a botched batch of dough turned out better than the recipe she had been using. The stand became the largest hand-rolled soft pretzel franchise in the world, which is a fair summary of what this county exports.
