Anastasia State Park, the end of the island nobody subdivided

Florida bought this 1,600 acre point at the north end of Anastasia Island in 1949, directly across Matanzas Bay from the old town. One boundary now holds beach and dune, tidal salt marsh, maritime hammock and the lagoon called Salt Run, plus the Spanish quarry pits listed on the National Register. It is the reason this end of the island still reads as coast instead of oceanfront blocks.
