Roelif and Antye Van Houten built this stone house on Totowa Road around 1772, three years before the war reached New Jersey and long before Totowa was a borough. Federal surveyors measured and photographed it for the Historic American Buildings Survey in 1938. It was added to the National Register in April 2025, which makes it one of the newest listings in Passaic County.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
