Kemper Freeman Sr.
Puget Sound Power and Light put up a four storey headquarters here in 1956, the tallest building in Bellevue and on the whole Eastside at the time.
William Schupp brought the American Pacific Whaling Company's boats into Meydenbauer Bay in 1919, using the new ship canal to lay the fleet up in fresh water through the off season.
Until 1960 anyone on the Eastside who needed a hospital had to cross the lake to get to one.
