A ten day celebration of West Los Angeles's historic Japanese American business district along Sawtelle Boulevard, marking the anniversary of the city's 2015 designation of the area as Sawtelle Japantown. The event features merchant promotions, cultural programming, and community gatherings up and down the boulevard. It has run every February since 2018.

The West Los Angeles Buddhist Temple in Sawtelle Japantown hosts a two day Obon festival of bon odori folk dancing, live taiko and Japanese food stalls each summer.
From 1875 to 1953 this was a stop and rail car storage yard, first for the steam powered Los Angeles and Independence Railroad and later for the Pacific Electric's Santa Monica Air Line.
The director Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele Singer Reiner were found dead of stab wounds at their Brentwood home on December 14, 2025.
