Tito's Tacos has sold the same hard shell taco since 1959
1959
Washington Place, Culver City, California
Benjamin Davidson opened this walk-up stand on Washington Place in 1959, with the menu worked out by his partner Benny Vizcarra and by Amado Madera, the first employee, who came from Huejuquilla el Alto in Jalisco. The taco is the American hard shell kind, fried and then buried in shredded cheese, and the recipe has not been changed since. The Daily Meal put its burrito first in a national ranking in 2015.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
