Pierogi Fest began in 1993 as a small one day sale of about twelve hundred pierogi and has grown into a three day street festival on 119th Street drawing close to three hundred thousand visitors. It is known for the wAcKy Polka Parade led by a costumed Mr. Pierogi and a pierogi eating contest.
