Pasadena runs its own nine day rodeo and livestock show every September at the Pasadena Fairgrounds, with a barbecue cook off, carnival midway and nightly headline concerts, separate from the much larger Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo across town. It has run for more than 75 years and remains the east side's own version of rodeo season. Pasadena ISD students show livestock throughout the week.
