A ten day county fair and nightly rodeo at the North Texas Fairgrounds in Denton, with livestock shows, a carnival midway, and a country music headliner after each rodeo performance. It has run since 1928 and is one of the largest fairs in North Texas. The 2026 fair runs August 21 through 30.

Denton had been holding livestock fairs and horse races since 1885, but the modern fair dates to 1928, when the county agricultural association took it over and added a parade, a carnival and rodeo events.
O'Neil Ford and Arch Swank designed the chapel and the National Youth Administration paid for the labour during the Depression.
The legislature created the school in 1901 and it took its first 186 students the next year with fourteen faculty.
