A five-day downtown jazz festival now in its 15th year, produced with ArtsWestchester and the White Plains Business Improvement District.
From 6 July to 18 August 1781 this farmhouse was the headquarters of the Comte de Rochambeau, with the French expeditionary force camped around it and Washington's Continentals on the neighbouring farm.
Kensico was founded in 1889 when Manhattan's graveyards were filling up and the railroads made rural burial practical.
Kensico is the last stop before the taps.
Gate of Heaven opened as a Catholic cemetery in 1917 about 25 miles north of the city, and Babe Ruth was buried here in 1948 under an epitaph written by Cardinal Francis Spellman.
