An independent film festival founded in 2003 that screens roughly 90 narrative features, documentaries and shorts across historic Boston-area theaters including the Somerville Theatre, Brattle Theatre and Coolidge Corner Theatre. It runs about a week each spring and has become one of New England's leading showcases for emerging independent cinema.

The 1,100 seat house opened in May 1914 as a vaudeville stage and movie theatre, designed by the firm of Funk and Wilcox.
