HONK! brings activist street bands from around the world to Somerville and Cambridge each October, with free concerts in Davis Square and a closing parade to Harvard Square. The festival started in 2006 and now draws dozens of brass, second line, and percussion bands. All performances are free and outdoors.

The 1,100 seat house opened in May 1914 as a vaudeville stage and movie theatre, designed by the firm of Funk and Wilcox.
An independent film festival founded in 2003 that screens roughly 90 narrative features, documentaries and shorts across historic Boston-area theaters including the Somerville Theatre, Brattle Theatre and Coolidge Corner Theatre.
