The Geauga County Maple Festival takes over Chardon Square with a parade, a pancake breakfast, lumberjack competitions and a maple syrup contest tied to the county's maple sugaring tradition. Founded in 1926, it is billed as the oldest maple festival in the country. It is held each April.
