Highwood's Garlic Fest is a single evening street festival run by the nonprofit Celebrate Highwood alongside the town's regular Evening Gourmet Market. Vendors serve garlic themed food from garlic ice cream to garlic cocktails, with live music and a garlic trivia contest.

The Great Highwood Pumpkin Fest transforms downtown Highwood each October with pumpkin carving stations, illuminated pumpkin walls, and a Skeletons on Display exhibit of costumed skeleton figures around town.
