A large downtown street festival with more than two hundred and fifty craft vendors, live music, and a beer and wine garden, run by the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce. Now in its forty eighth year, it is one of the Jersey Shore's biggest fall street fairs.

On 10 January an Army team at a coastal radar camp aimed a bedspring antenna at the rising moon and, two and a half seconds later, heard their own pulse come back, the first time a human signal had reached another world and returned.
A Methodist camp-meeting association bought a mile of shorefront and ran it as a religious town, a tent city that never came down, six hundred canvas-and-wood cottages still pitched each summer around a vast wooden auditorium.
