The tiny Pee Dee town of Clio has marked the first Saturday of October with a cotton harvest festival for more than thirty years, drawing crowds many times the town's population. The day includes a parade, cotton themed contests and live music on Main Street. It is one of the few remaining festivals in the state built explicitly around the cotton crop.
