Blenheim Ginger Ale
1903
Blenheim, South Carolina
A doctor told patients to take the local mineral water for their stomachs. They complained about the taste, so in 1903 he added ginger, a lot of it, and Blenheim became one of the oldest independent soda bottlers in the country. The red-cap Hot version is less a beverage than an event, and the tiny operation near the original springs still refuses to make it gentler.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
