A fall display of more than 100,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash arranged through the gardens of the Dallas Arboretum on White Rock Lake. Fodor's Travel has named it one of America's best pumpkin festivals, and it draws North Texas families back every year. The 2026 season runs from September 19 through November 1.

Air conditioning under one roof was the selling point when this mall opened just over the Dallas line in Mesquite in 1959, the first fully enclosed shopping centre in the Southwest.
Eastfield opened in Mesquite in 1970 as part of the Dallas community college system and now enrols more than 14,000 students.
