Alabama's Renaissance festival fills Wilson Park in downtown Florence with jousting, costumed performers, and craft vendors each fall. Now in its 40th year, the free two day faire is one of the longest running events of its kind in the state. A separate ticketed Renaissance Feast with a medieval themed dinner runs the week before at the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum.
