Four of Rick Hall's session men walked out and opened their own studio in a former coffin showroom, the first in America owned by the players. The Rolling Stones cut Brown Sugar and Wild Horses here in three days in December 1969. Paul Simon rang asking for the Black musicians he had heard on the Staple Singers record and was surprised to be introduced to four white men from Alabama.
