Ypsilanti and Willow Run give up their school districts and merge
2013
Ypsilanti Community High School, Packard and Hewitt Roads, Ypsilanti Township, Michigan
Two neighbouring districts in the Detroit outskirts dissolved themselves in 2013 and came back as one, Ypsilanti Community Schools. Ypsilanti High School, at Packard and Hewitt on the western edge of the old district, became the merged district's single high school and took the new name. Districts consolidating outright rather than closing buildings is rare enough in Michigan that this pair is still cited when other struggling districts weigh the same move.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
