Wilkins Township, named for Tyler's Secretary of War
1844
Wilkins Township, Pennsylvania
William Wilkins sat in both houses of Congress, served as a federal judge for western Pennsylvania, went to St Petersburg as minister to Russia in 1834, and took over the War Department for President Tyler in 1844. He died in 1865 at his estate east of the city, which he had named Homewood, and that is what the Pittsburgh neighbourhood is called now. This township and the borough of Wilkinsburg are both named after him.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
