West Side Dom Polski, the Polish hall on Junction Street
1917
3426 Junction Street, Detroit, Michigan

Two Polish lodges began planning a hall for Detroit's west side Polonia in 1913 and laid the cornerstone on Junction Street in July 1917. Money ran out, so the rear half opened first and the front took another eight years of fundraising before the finished building was dedicated in September 1925. It was the social centre of the west side Polish parishes for half a century. A church uses it now.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
