Washington's first mission ended at Fort Le Boeuf

Virginia sent a twenty one year old surveyor north in the winter of 1753 to tell the French to leave the Ohio country. He got as far as this fort, handed over the letter, was fed well and told politely that the French had no intention of going anywhere, and rode home nearly drowning in the Allegheny on the way. The journal he published on his return made him known in London, and the war that followed was the one that made his name.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
