Villa Riviera, the chateau on Ocean Boulevard
1928
Long Beach, California
Los Angeles · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
A sixteen storey French chateau roof dropped on the Long Beach shoreline, finished in 1928 and sold as own your own apartments, fully furnished, with doormen and maids on call. For nearly thirty years it was the tallest private building in Southern California outside Los Angeles. Residents still own their units.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
