Franklin Roosevelt used the Potomac as his presidential yacht from 1936 until his death in 1945. On 3 August 1941 she sailed as a decoy, in view of the press, while he slipped away to the meeting at sea that produced the Atlantic Charter. She and the Sequoia are the last two American presidential yachts left, and the Potomac is now a National Historic Landmark tied up at Jack London Square and open to the public.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
