Turtle Creek High School turned out a Heisman winner and The Vogues

Built in 1917 as Turtle Creek High School, this building sent out Leon Hart, who won the Heisman Trophy at Notre Dame and then a title with the Detroit Lions, and William McMillan, an Olympic shooting gold medallist. The Vogues, who put Five O'Clock World and You're the One on the charts in the mid 1960s, came out of the same borough. The school was listed on the National Register in 2007 and reopened in 2009 as a kindergarten through eighth grade academy.
