Tripp was the last of the four hamlets pulled into Sunnyvale
1953
Sunnyvale, Texas
Four farm settlements in eastern Dallas County agreed in 1953 to become one town, and Tripp was the piece that took longest to disappear, still drawn on county maps into the 1970s and not annexed until after 1964. It had a church, a school and a few stores when the merger went through. The name Sunnyvale came from a contest at the Tripp and Long Creek school, where students first picked Sunnyville and found another Texas town already had it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
