The Whistle Stop Cafe
Juliette, Monroe County, Georgia
John Mathew Smith & www.celebrity-photos.com from Laurel · CC BY-SA 2.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Juliette was a near-empty mill village until the crew of Fried Green Tomatoes built their cafe set in an old general store in 1991, and when the film hit, the set simply opened as a restaurant. It has served fried green tomatoes every day since to people who drive an hour off the interstate for a fictional diner. The mill ruins across the tracks are real.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
