Tom's Restaurant, Manhattan

Monk's Café, where four New Yorkers dissect the nothing of their days over coffee, is on the outside a real diner near Columbia University, the same neon TOM'S sign in every establishing shot, though the interior was a Los Angeles set. The diner was already famous from a Suzanne Vega song. The show made its facade one of the most recognized in the city.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
