Designed by Wright's successor firm and shaped like an unfolding scallop. Wright's widow chose the colour, taking it from a seashell she had picked up in the Gulf of Mexico, and specified lavender and purple because she thought a building on that bay should answer the water rather than compete with it. It is the most argued-about building in the county.
