The Telecom Corridor, six and a half miles of Richardson office park
1992
Richardson, Texas
Collins Radio and Texas Instruments drew engineers to Richardson in the 1950s, and the deregulation of the phone business in the 1980s turned that pool of talent into a telecommunications cluster. The Richardson Chamber of Commerce registered the name Telecom Corridor as a trademark in 1992. The strip runs about six and a half miles along US 75 between the Bush Turnpike and Interstate 635 and holds more than 25 million square feet of office space.
