Finished on the Colorado campus in 1953 and named for Elmer Sommers and Carl Bausch, the observatory belongs to the astrophysical and planetary sciences department and is used mostly for teaching. Its domes hold a 24 inch Cassegrain reflector, a pair of 20 inch telescopes and a heliostat for looking at the sun.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
