Queensborough Lodge 878, chartered in 1903, opened this Italian Renaissance building on Queens Boulevard on October 26, 1924, at a cost of 750,000 dollars. The Ballinger Company fitted it with bowling alleys, game rooms, twenty eight guest rooms and a sixty foot bar, with a swimming pool and gymnasium in the annex next door. It was the biggest Elks lodge in the eastern United States, and it reached the state and national registers in 2014.
