The pyramids that aren't in Rock Lake
Rock Lake, Lake Mills, Wisconsin
CC0 · Wikimedia Commons
There are heaps of rock on the bottom of this lake, and because Aztalan's real mounds are three miles east, people have been diving on them since the 1930s and coming up convinced they are sunken pyramids from a lost civilisation. Books have been written. Sonar has been run. The geologists who have actually looked keep reporting the same thing, which is that they are silty piles of rock, and the story keeps going anyway, which is the interesting part.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
