The Pennsylvania rifle, known as the Kentucky rifle
Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Public domain · Wikimedia Commons
German gunsmiths here lengthened the barrel and cut the bore smaller than the European jäger rifles they had learned on, producing a weapon accurate past two hundred yards and economical with powder and lead. It went down the wagon roads with the settlers who used it, which is why the Pennsylvania rifle is universally known as the Kentucky rifle.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
