The New York Hall of Science, a World's Fair pavilion that never closed

Wallace Harrison's Great Hall opened for the 1964 World's Fair with undulating walls a hundred feet high, built from more than five thousand panels of blue glass set into concrete. Almost every other pavilion was torn down when the fair shut, and this one stayed open as a science museum. It became one of the places that built its exhibits around things visitors handle themselves, and the fair's Atlas and Titan II rockets still stand outside in Rocket Park.
