The Libby, McNeill and Libby plant on Western Avenue

Libby, McNeill and Libby built its main Midwest processing plant here between 1917 and 1919 to a design by Philip Larmon. The canner was one of the largest food companies in the country and the building runs to hundreds of thousands of square feet along Western Avenue. It has stood largely empty for years while Blue Island has argued over what to do with it.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
