The Lehi schoolhouse that became the Mesa Historical Museum

Lehi was a farming settlement on the Salt River that predates Mesa and was eventually swallowed by it. Its schoolhouse, built in 1913 and 1914, is the oldest school building left in the city, and the Works Progress Administration added the auditorium beside it in the 1930s. The Mesa Historical Society opened the pair as a museum in 1987 and treats the buildings themselves as the largest objects in the collection.
