Constant Tiafoe, who had left Sierra Leone, worked as a day labourer on the crew that built this training centre in 1999. When it opened he was kept on to run maintenance and given an unused office to sleep in, and his twin sons stayed with him five nights a week for about eleven years. Frances Tiafoe picked up the game on these courts at four years old and reached the US Open semi finals in 2022. The centre now has thirty two courts and trains juniors, college teams and professionals.
