The Hall of Fame for Great Americans, the first of them all
1900

Stanford White laid a 630 foot open air colonnade along the crest above the Harlem River in 1900, with niches for 102 bronze busts of Americans chosen by a national electorate of voters. Every hall of fame since, for baseball, rock and roll or anything else, descends from this one. NYU sold the campus to the City University in 1973 and the colonnade now belongs to Bronx Community College.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
