The Gonzalez-Alvarez House, the oldest house in St. Augustine
1723
St. Augustine, Florida
Ebyabe · CC BY-SA 3.0 · Wikimedia Commons
Built around 1723 on a lot people had occupied since the early 1600s, this is the oldest surviving house in the city. The coquina walls and ground floor plan are first period Spanish. The upper storey, the fireplaces and the glazed windows came from British owners after 1763. Every occupation of Florida left a mark on the same building. It was made a National Historic Landmark in 1970.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
