The Culver Hotel opens as Culver City's flatiron skyscraper
1924
Culver City, California
Harry Culver, who founded the city, put up a six storey wedge shaped hotel on a triangular lot and opened it on 4 September 1924 as the Hotel Hunt. Curlett and Beelman, the firm behind the Eastern Columbia building downtown, gave it a Renaissance Revival face of sculpted stone and brick with about 200 windows. Local papers called the six storeys a skyscraper. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
