The first pasta company in America moves to Fair Lawn
1952
A. Zerega's Sons plant, Fair Lawn, New Jersey
Antoine Zerega began making pasta in Brooklyn in 1848, which makes his company the first in the United States to do it as a business. His son Frank stayed in the trade for eighty three years and ran the firm as president. The company left Front Street in Brooklyn for this Fair Lawn plant in 1952 and kept making pasta here under family ownership until it was sold to Philadelphia Macaroni in 2020.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
