The first message on the ARPANET arrives

On 29 October a student at UCLA typed the first two letters of LOGIN to a machine at the Stanford Research Institute and the system crashed. The message that got through was 'lo'. The network had two nodes. By December it had four, and the thing the rest of this list runs on had started.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
