In 1913 the developer Barton Deming got John D. Rockefeller to sell him 141 acres that the Euclid Golf Club had been leasing for its back nine. Deming spent the next sixteen years covering it in Craftsman, Colonial Revival and French Revival houses on curving streets. The district keeps the golf club's name and was listed on the National Register in 2002.
