College Park Center opened on the UT Arlington campus in 2012 for the school's basketball and volleyball teams. When the WNBA's Tulsa Shock relocated in 2016 they became the Dallas Wings and moved in here, a professional team playing under the name of a city eighteen miles away. The Wings are due to leave for a new downtown Dallas arena in 2027.
