The country's first airline industry museum opens in Forest Park
2006
Forest Park, Georgia
Most aviation museums in the United States tell the story of military or pioneer flying. This nonprofit, founded in 2006 a few miles from the world's busiest airport, was the first built around the commercial airline business itself, backed by local governments and hundreds of industry partners. It later closed the Forest Park space while its organizers looked for a larger home.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
