The Cooper-Frost-Austin House, the oldest house in Cambridge
1681
Cambridge, Massachusetts

Samuel Cooper put up one room and a chimney bay on Linnaean Street in 1681, on ground his father had held since 1657, and the town clerk wrote it down in 1689 in the register of houses in the New Towne. It is the oldest house still standing in Cambridge. Historic New England owns it and opens it rarely, which is its own kind of preservation.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
