Robert Frost's Derry farm
1900
Derry, New Hampshire

Frost kept hens on this farm for a decade, failing quietly at agriculture while the poems that made him piled up: the wall he mended here became Mending Wall, the pasture and the brook are all over the early books. He said afterward that everything he wrote traced back to the Derry years. The farm is a state historic site with the stone wall still running along the property line.
That was 1 of the hidden places.
